Planned Disconnections for Mobile Databases

Abstract:
As mobility permeates todays computing environment, we envision applicationinfrastructures that will increasingly use mobile technologies. Traditionaldatabase applications will need to integrate mobile entities: people andcomputers. In this paper, we develop a distributed database framework formobile environments. A key requirement in such an environment is to supportfrequent connection and disconnection of database sites.
